Reinstate Teaching Assistant Angela Simon

Angela Simon, a Teaching Assistant in the Gender and Women's Studies Department at Western Michigan University, was wrongfully terminated from her position after suffering injury at home due to severe electrical shock. Ms. Simon continued with all of her job duties aside from physically attending classes because of a lack of mobility resulting from the injury. Ms. Simon continued to be responsible for all grading, email correspondence with students, preparing lesson plans for her classes and all duties associated with her online class. In response to her effort, the GWS Department terminated her contract a month before the Spring semester starts before Ms. Simon was able to see the specialists needed for the proper diagnosis and prognosis of her condition.
